Meet Our Board Members

Crystal Shaver
(President)

When I am not at the pool or softball fields, I work for Insperity as a Tax Compliance Analyst.

I am the proud wife to one super lucky guy and absolutely remarkable husband and father to our three extraordinary kids!

My family and I have been with Village Otters since 2012. I have proudly been serving on our board of directors since 2016. There has been no greater joy than having all three of my children swim for this one-of-a-kind team and then watch my two oldest move on to actually coach VGO back-to-back!

Team VGO will always be my second family…. It is because of this that I cannot stress enough, the importance of water safety. I am proud to say that you will absolutely receive that type of training, have a ton of fun, and make a million memories when you join Village Otters Swim Team!

Candi McLeran
(Vice President)

My name is Candi McLeran. I am excited to serve our team this season. Summer swim team is so important!!! I swam on a summer team ages 5-17, and enjoyed coaching, teaching lessons, and lifeguarding! Our family moved to Elm Grove in 2011. Swim team allows us to meet neighbors we would never know otherwise! Our two Otters learned to swim well on the team and are looking forward to a fun season with friends!

Paul Hull
(Treasurer)

My name is Paul Hull, and I am happy to serve as treasurer for the Otters. Heather and I have been married for 23 years and both of our children, Bella and Gus, have enjoyed swimming for the Otters at different times. We have lived here in Kingwood for almost 10 years and love the community. We moved here to further our teaching careers and serve children with visual impairments. I am privileged to work as a COMS (Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist) for New Caney ISD. When not at work our family spends way too much time watching, talking about, and thinking about StarWars. May the Force be with you!

Margaret Higgens
(Awards)

My name is Margaret Higgins and I’ll be taking care of the ribbons and awards this year. I previously served on the Otter Board as treasurer but have handed those reigns over. I earned an accounting degree from Baylor University before marrying my husband, Kerry. We have 4 children with ages ranging 17-23. Each of our kids swam for the Otters off and on for the past 12 years with my youngest one currently swimming with the team. Our family is a member of Woodridge Baptist Church and we love our Kingwood community. I enjoy celebrating achievements and am thrilled to be volunteering for this position.

Rob Snoddy
(Announcements/Equipment Manager)

Deeply rooted, our family has been part of the Otters, for what it feels like a lifetime. Both my wife and I swam for the Otters in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Most recently, 2 of our 4 daughters have been on the team since 2012 and 2019. I’m sure it’s just another season until my other 2 will be dropping seconds and scoring points for the Village Otters too! I’ve been lucky to be the Team’s announcer since the 2017 season and have a lot of fun doing it. I can’t wait to get to know each and every swimmer and parent, and really look forward to this year’s swim season (especially the home meets). Please stop by and say hello…..Let’s go Otters!

Glenda Parisher
(Fundraiser/Sponsorships)

I have been an active member of the Otters Swim Team community since 2018 and am proud to serve as the Fundraising Sponsorship Board Member. As a parent of three Otter swimmers, I have a deep appreciation for the dedication of our athletes, families, and coaches. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to support the team in several roles, gaining a strong understanding of what makes our program successful. I take great pride in our Otter families and look forward to an exciting and successful 2026 season!

Lauren Garza
(Secretary)

Hi everyone! My name is Lauren Garza, and I am so excited to be your new swim team secretary! I’m happily married and we have two kids—one who is in her second season as an Otter, and another who is a freshman at KHS. When we aren’t at the pool, our family loves spending time together outdoors or at church. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and having a fantastic season together. Go Otters!

Monica Cain
(Concessions)

I was raised in Kingwood and have lived in the Elm Grove community for over 10 years. I am a working mom of 3 amazing children, ages 8 to 22. Two years ago, my youngest daughter became a swimmer with the Elm Grove Village Otters. Swimming quickly became our favorite sport, thanks to its blend of challenge and camaraderie. What truly resonates with me is the way each member contributes to the team's success, fostering a supportive and enjoyable atmosphere where kids thrive and form lasting bonds. I am excited to lend my support to this exceptional team. Here’s to the moments of growth, friendship, and triumph ahead! GO OTTERS!

Adam Weddington
(Computers)

Originally from Houston, we are new to Kingwood and have only been in the area since 2020. Moving here during the pandemic had its benefits and we are glad to have been able to acclimate in our own time.

I am a parent to five children, with one Otter (for now)! Eager to expand our own Otters family, we've set our sights on establishing firm roots within the team. My journey began with volunteering, a stepping stone that led me to assume the role of an elected Board Member. In this capacity, I am committed to upholding our integrity and ensuring equitable treatment for every swimmer, but I am equally committed to having fun and enjoying the memories to come!

Heather Crowell
(Volunteer Coordinator)

My name is Heather Crowell, and I am excited to be a part of the board this season. My daughter joined the Otters for her first summer swim season last year and loved it. We both loved the community feeling of the Otters and how welcoming everyone is. I have two wonderful daughters, 8 and 9 years old and they keep us busy. We moved to Texas from Cincinnati, OH in 2020 and have enjoyed the Texas weather (even the summers!) and the fantastic people we have met. My significant other, Eric is not so much a fan of the Texas summers, but he loves supporting and watching our daughter swim. We are looking forward to fun swim season with friends and I am looking forward to serving along side an amazing group of parents on the board.

Krystle Deleon
(Social Coordinator)

My name is Krystle Deleon, and family is at the heart of everything I do. I’ve been happily married for 10 years, and being a mom to my three children is my greatest joy and favorite role. Camping isn’t just a hobby for us—it’s a way of life. We love spending time outdoors kayaking, tubing, and living for swim team season every summer. I also enjoy teaching classes at our homeschool co-op and being part of our learning community.
